What a title "Many Americans Still Not Prepared For A Job Loss." Does that mean that there are going to be more out of work people? The cost of living is high and the wages are low how can one prepare for a job loss. That's such a good feeling preparing for a job loss and not retirement!

I don't have a credit card and I do have debt. Not everyone's debt is from credit cards. Mine is medical debt. My paycheck pays all of my household bills and that is it. I'm not wearing fancy clothes, driving a look at me car or live in a big fancy house.

I was unemployed for 10 months and used up all of my savings. If it were to happen again I'd be screwed. It's paycheck to paycheck now.

NEWSVINE, what was so terrible about the comment below. There is no nasty language or name calling. I stated a fact and that fact is that people need to quit holding out for the high paying jobs or the jobs in which they are educated.

I live in a small town where the jobs are few and always have been. After 10 months of unemployment in 2008\2009 I finally found a job.

NFIL I understand it depends on where you live. That is why I am happy where I am at....slow paced easy lifestyle with very few neighbors. Like I said I could live like a queen on $50,000.00 a year. I love the simple life!

It's a terrible thing when one thinks just because one lives in a single wide trailer they would have to be cigarette smoking beer drinking trash. One shouldn't be so quick to judge!
